BLUE ZIRCON
Blue zircon is one of the most desired, vibrant and dazzling blue gemstones in the world. Its’ high dispersion compares to that of natural diamond. It has a color that no other blue gemstone can try to mimic. Zircon is found in several locations, in a variety of colors, but they pale next to the incredible sparkle of a true Cambodian blue zircon. Blue zircon was a particular favorite in Victorian times. Gemologist George Kunz, Tiffany’s famed gem buyer, was a notable zircon advocate. He once suggested the name “starlite” to promote the gem’s fiery nature, but sadly it never caught on.
