ZIRCON
Zircon is one of the most desired, vibrant and dazzling gemstones in the world. Its’ high dispersion compares to that of natural diamond. Zircon is found in several locations, in a variety of colors, and was a particular favorite in Victorian times. Gemologist George Kunz, Tiffany’s famed gem buyer, was a notable zircon advocate. He once suggested the name “starlite” to promote the gem’s fiery nature, but sadly it never caught on. Zircon is one of the birthstones for December.
