COLOR-CHANGE GARNET
Color-change garnets are an exciting and colorful variety of garnet which change color under different lighting. Lake Manyara, Tanzania (see pendant shown), produced a handful of these spectacular gems which change color from velvet purple to rich pink. As a matter of fact, these gems are so nice that many have confused them as the legendary Alexandrite. Color-change garnets are absolutely natural, with no enhancements. Garnet is the birthstone for January, and the gemstone for Aquarius and Aries. Garnets have a hardness of 6.5-7.5, making them very durable for everyday wear with proper care. More about Garnet HERE
SPINEL
Spinel is a very underrated member of the gemstone family. It has been confused with many gems, including Ruby. Mahenge spinel, found in 2007 in Mahenge, Tanzania, is some of the most sought-after and rare spinel. It has an incredible, hot pink glow. Spinel is one of the birthstones for August, and is the gem for the 22nd anniversary. It is believed to encourage great passion and devotion.
