RUTILATED QUARTZ
While many gemstones are most valuable when they contain little or no inclusions, rutilated quartz is the exception. It is prized for its needle-like inclusions of rutile. These inclusions mostly appear golden, but can also look copper, silver or deep black. These inclusions give it a special allure and desirability as a distinctive gemstone type. Rutilated quartz is found mainly in colorless, transparent quartz. Other varieties of quartz are rarely if ever found in rutilated form. Rutilated quartz is known metaphysically to promote spiritual growth and illuminate the soul. It cleanses auras and acts as an antidepressant. It is also believed to relieve anxiety, phobias and fears. Rutilated quartz has a hardness of 7.0, making it very durable for everyday wear.
