AMETHYST
Amethyst is one of the most popular and well-known gemstones today. With availability in a wide spectrum of vibrant purples, from light rosy purple to rich, dark velvet purple, it has a dazzling color to please everyone. Amethyst used to be as pricey as ruby and emerald, until the 19th Century when Brazil discovered large deposits. Because Amethyst was associated with wine, it was believed that wearing it prevented drunkenness. Its name comes from the Greek “amethystos”, meaning “not drunk.” Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and the gemstone for Virgo, Pisces and Aquarius. It marks the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries, and has a hardness of 7.0, making it very durable for everyday wear with proper care. More about Amethyst HERE
PINK SAPPHIRE
Sapphire is one of the “big three” of jewelry colored gemstones—the other two being ruby and emerald. Sapphires come in a multitude of colors, and when they are red, they are rubies! Sapphires captivate their audience with their durability, rarity and aura of romance. For centuries, sapphire has been associated with royalty. Traditionally, they symbolize nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. Sapphire is the birthstone for September, the gemstone for Taurus and Aquarius, and the gem of the 5th and 45th anniversaries. It has a hardness of 9.0, making it very durable for everyday wear with proper care. More about Sapphire HERE
