BLUE TOPAZ
Blue Topaz is one of the most popular gemstones today because of its wide spectrum of vibrant blues. From icy blue to rich deep blue, it is a colorful stone that has mass appeal. The three most popular shades of blue topaz are sky blue, which has a pale blue that is the lightest tone, similar to aquamarine; Swiss blue which is a bright medium tone; and London blue which is the richest, deepest tone. Blue topaz is said to symbolize clarity of feelings, honesty, and deep emotional attachment. It is one of the birthstones for December, and marks the 4th and 19th wedding anniversaries. Blue topaz has a hardness of 8.0, making it very durable for everyday wear with proper care. More about Blue Topaz HERE
AMETHYST
With availability in a wide spectrum of vibrant purples, from light rosy purple to rich, dark velvet purple, Amethyst has a dazzling color to please everyone. Amethyst used to be as pricey as ruby and emerald, until the 19th Century when Brazil discovered large deposits. Because Amethyst was associated with wine, it was believed that wearing it prevented drunkenness. Its name comes from the Greek “amethystos”, meaning “not drunk.” Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and the gemstone for Virgo, Pisces and Aquarius. It marks the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries, and has a hardness of 7.0, making it very durable for everyday wear with proper care. More about Amethyst HERE
